If you read back a few posts you’ll see me talk a lot about my holiday cards. For the 2023 holidays I made four different cards, each with an Ontario bird on it. I do love typing lists, so, ahem, they were: a Red-Bellied Woodpecker, a Black-Crowned Night Heron, White-Breasted Nuthatches and House Finches. Each was a bird I had a special connection with throughout 2023. Two of them I saw for the first time last year! That’s big for a birder. And yes, I am a birder.
In 2022 I started sending my holiday cards with a corresponding donation to an environmental charity. 2022, The Year of Florals, was onetreeplanted.org. This past year was Ducks Unlimited Canada, for the birds, of course.
And now the cards are available to purchase on Etsy! Doing something proactive with my artwork is something I’ve always strived for, hence the donation on the holiday cards. So to that end, the sale of each card will include a donation to Ducks Unlimited Canada. You can buy a piece of art and save a wetland!
